Not too sure about the air intake on that thing... Guessing the plastic tore and instead of replacing chose to go a more "custom" route

That's been for sale for a long time. It was debated on the board a while back. It looks like a lipstick on a pig situation to me. I'm betting it's got some serious issues. Plus, the color is ghey.

See a lot of little things on wrong on this $5K beater. Color of exterior or interior are not on the list. Only thing keeping me from looking at it is the missing switch on the dash just left of steering wheel. Top on the list is has to have lockers. Second is what shape running gear is in followed by rust. If one in this price range comes along and meets the first three on my want list I won't let the color stop me from getting it. That is unless it's been repainted pink or purple.

What do you guys think about the salvaged title? I have no intention of selling my 80 but it has a salvaged title like this one. Would you say it automatically calls for a lower price?

Personally I would not rule out a salvage title ( I have owned one) depending on the reason and history behind the salvage. For many it a no go having sold one. Defiantly calls for a lower price no matter how well it looks.

When a vehicle gets to this age and price range it really doesn't matter to me. This one I would insure as cheap as I could since it's close to being a throw away. If it was one of the better kept 80 series that may have a long term chance of coming up in value in the future I doubt I would buy a salvage title. But at my age it still probably wouldn't matter since happen in my life time.

If it's fixed properly, I'd have no problem with owning one assuming I had no intention of selling it. I was once told by my insurance agent that a salvage vehicle would only be worth about 2/3 of book value in a claim. To me, that would be the value I would assign if buying one.

I would be worried more about the missing air cleaner and cover for the center console than items that could easily be unbolted and tossed. If it wasn't for the poor gas mileage this be the type of vehicle I would have bought my kids back when they were teenagers. Because it's a Toyota would last longer than most but in the end would still get trashed.:bang:

If I were to go look at it I would hold comments about the mods. Any guy who can cover a license plate with one finger is someone you don't want to piss out.
