Saw this today - looks nice.
1977 FJ40 LANDCRUISER

Appraised at 100k, I call BS on that, and $32K asking price, whatever. For something you would never wheel because its so perfect you wouldnt want it scratch it. Street and show truck this will always be, what a waste.

Landcruisers are appreciated by a wide variety of people and eventually fall in to the hands of people who use them for their intended purpose. I am sure someone will find this "trailer queen" to be exactly what they were looking for.

Why anyone would want to buy a completed project is beyond me.

i know what you mean, if its perfect in every way, what do you do with it, stare at in the garage and drive it to Starbucks?

I am with you Shannon...Appraised (alledgely) at 100K in 2009 and a year later in 2010 wants 32K.....This is worse than the housing market on ROI (return on investment)...As they say "every one always has a good story to tell" l...Other than that, nice looking rig and hopefully it goes to a good home!

Nice, but........
More proof that the editors of 4 wheeler mag are more interested in bling over practical function.

Non trail worthy features noticed from the pics:

:eek:Cooler and electric fan presented as rock finding devices between the front springs.

:rolleyes:Front bumper flush mounted lights, like leading with your chin.

:frown:Rear shock adjustment knobs available for immediate shearing upon encountering any moderate rock strewn trail.

:hillbilly:Fuel filter and hose hanging below the frame rail to taunt any available root, branch or bush to claim.

And as far as style points go, that has to be the ugliest most non ergonomic execution of a dash I have ever seen. Did they get that steering wheel from the Teutul boys at OCC?

But that's just my opinion. I'm sure it's beautiful in someones eyes.
Still it's purty on the outside. I'd be curious what a close up inspection reveals

I have to agree, not sure what you would do with that.If all you can do is drive it around town I would rather have a bone stock 40.Otherwise build it to wheel like they are intented to.

What a boring world it would be if EVERY FJ40 was the same. There's a lot to like with that one. I'm not crazy about the dash or steering wheel, but I like the front bumper.

There is a lot to like. The bumper was cool until they stuck those lights in it IMHO.

I'd wheel it. (after fixing the potential trail fixes) :bounce:
