Just out of curiosity, anyone ever consider Cerakote for their chrome pieces? The thought had occurred to me as you'd have to strip off all of the trim and get them painted anyways. From what I've read about cerakoting, it will last a lot longer and be more durable than typical automotive paint.
I don’t know much about cerakote.. will it bond with any material?

They normally would clean and media blast the parts prior to spray application. Much like getting parts painted. Might be a bit over kill since Cerakote is used in firearms and high heat/wear applications.

You can bake plastic at 180-200 for 90 minutes, but it would need prepped with a low grit sand blast. I've never done it personally, but my go-to tactical shop was happy to do it when I asked after seeing this post.

That’s why I was asking. Had always heard about it being used for firearms and steel objects (I need to get my fire axe head coated actually).. then assumed it was for iron only.

I’d be very interested in seeing this play out.

Does anyone know if plastidip or vinyl wrap will affect the touch sensitive unlock feature on LXs? I’d love to delete the chrome on mine, but not at the expense of having to actually push a button to unlock.
