chopped the rear hatch and roof with more to come....needs so much body work and i'm not into it..also it's a vehicle i bought solely for 4wheelin' so i'm modifying the body to get some tire room and approach angles ...some lift, tires and lock the diffs etc.. ideas welcome

Yeahhhh! that's what I did to my 55. You have any closeup pics of how you boxed in the sheet metal sides & behind the rear doors/ roof? You going to make a custom canvas cover? How bout an inner cage? I'd start shaving the rear corner bottoms/ under tailgate for an increased departure angle.
 
kling-on is a nice build I read it all......

I will have more pics soon of the sheet metel work as well as a shortening and narrowing the rear section, narrowed tailgate, fender trim, roof rack refit, soft top w/rear window and then more stuff like tires, lift. etc...never ends does it..

maybe inner cage or .....full on tube buggy if i save for some DOM till next year:) haha

had to go wheel it just bent the roof down and went out..... needs tires bad....

removed the rear doors this evening...will post pics when I cut it some more this week. won't be much left but a truggy when i'm done with it... and I might have to make a custom frame soon too mines almost toast :(

thinking of a boat fuel cell 22 gal for 60 bucks..but i'll keep that in mind...cheers lc hamma

also found some 35's to run...

nice...another islander! rig looks wicked, if im ever up that way we should find a trail to run. are there many good trails up there?

nothing wrong with runnen a boat tank...thats how we move the 45 around i thought it worked pretty well...scary part is i just ran it through the "floor" without any cutting....:whoops:
