Choosing paint color….would love to see some dark grey, gunmetal or charcoal rigs!

What about Leadfoot Grey from the Ford Raptor? Direct sunlight it’s a lighter grey but overcast it’s decently dark.

This is God knows what gray metallic, my wife picked. I can get a paint number if you like it enough from photos. The longer I look at it the better I like it. probably going with black wheels, bumpers and sliders.

I think you’re color blind. Or maybe I’m color blind?!?!!!😱

No no I'm definitely color blind runs in the family haha, but I'm the jackass that has to look at it!

The raptor is too light, I would stick with the nebula grey if I went that light.

NCFJ that's beautiful but again too light.

Thank you fellas!!

Ooh! me likey the Porsche!

nice color. If only getting those horsepowers was less expensive.

I think the Carpathian Gray looks great. I agree, darker grays would look really good on an 80. I am looking into the same scheme but I'm less worried about the "greens". I recently looked at Carbon Steel Grey Metallic and I really like that too. It isn't quite grey, has blues and greens depending on the light. But it is badass.
WTF.webp

Paint and certain select vendor decals do add horsepower, and they are much needed to offset the weight of armor and big tires. I do not however remember the ratio of sticker visibility and paint color "boldness" to horsepower gains. One "bold" example would be the BMW(e46) Phoenix Yellow metallic. That in concert with Toyota red coolant, some strategic decals and true oem plug wires should net you about half the hp of a turbo kit I would think.

Whatever I can get done in a good quality single stage is where my head is at regarding paint.

So what you're saying is my teq badges and 100 series "land cruiser" rear emblem is going to offset my arb front, nwti rear, xo fab sliders and baja roof rack?

Wait a minute....with the paint on top I'm probably going to be pushing more than a TRD supercharger!

I also took out the 3rd row!!! Winning!

Good work. I've been doing it wrong and applying stickers to my workbench so I'm probably like 90hp at the wheels now. I think the ih8mud decal is worth some hp.

When does the painting begin? I’m excited to see this. I’d like to see before and after pics. Come to think of it, what does your ride look like now?

Might be delayed a couple weeks as I'm waiting to see if I can pick the rear hatch and fender from this salvaged truck in NM that I have a bunch of other parts coming from. I'll get some pics tomorrow as she is now when I have her back in my warehouse under the lights, I love working on the truck myself what little I can do but it's such a slow frustrating process waiting on others. After paint she is going back to my welder for the sliders and rear, then back to me for the new interior, roof rack, headlights, kutsnake flares and 500 other misc small things. I think the most frustrating part is that she is completely sorted mechanically but I won't be able to drive her regularly for a while unless it's to and from getting all this crap done but she's going to be nice when she's done. At this point I'm kinda worried that she'll be so nice I won't want to daily drive her....!
