Hey everyone,

I recently imported a 2000 VZJ95W and has been a bit of a problem child since the get go.it was making a noticeable chirping squeak sound since arrival and been trouble shooting what it could be. I then noticed that my coolant reservoir was quite low and after filling it a couple of times realized the water pump was leaking pretty bad so went ahead and did the timing belt, water pump, and thermostat to get that sorted out.

I linked a video from YouTube of the sound it is making, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Forgot to add when this happens but it only happens from 40-60 kmph when off of the accelerator

Couldn't hear any chirping in your video.

Check your alternator belt. Torque load from the alternator increases with lower RPM as the alternator tries to maintain output. More torque= more belt slip = more chirping. Just did this on my KZJ95.

I will take a look at the alternator this weekend to see if the belt is worn, would it not make noise at start up then as well though?

Sometimes the alternator takes some time to come online and start charging. It also won't be able to charge much at idle, so low belt loading, and low slipping. When operating at higher RPM the alternator can charge more and load the belt more.

Keep in mind belts can look fine and still be bad. The belts I just pulled off mine look pristine, but the friction surfaces are glazed and not transfering much power. You can feel it with a fingernail.

Just wanted to update what the issue was, it ended up being the brake pads and rotors being very worn as well as a tab that was contacting the wheels and rubbing. Checked the alternator and belts and they were all in very good condition.
