Hey guys,
Not enough outdoor/wheeling content in the Coastal Cruiser section. So I thought I'd write a quick blurb about last weekend.
The GF talked me out of continuing on with home reno's on Sunday, so we headed up to the Chilliwack eco reserve. We passed a couple guys in a YJ when they were looking over a snow mound that had slid down onto the road. After we continued along the rutted road the truck tracks ended but the snow was packed down well by snowmobiles. I helped the YJ when he got stuck and so he followed us up to the trail head then the turned back.
The hike is very scenic, with lots of huge old trees. The snow up there is between 1 and 3 feet deep, but the crust is pretty solid. There was nobody else hiking up there that day and ours were the only tracks in a while. All in all a great little hike for a sunny weekend day trip.
On the way back the snow crust had softened and the jeep guys had chewed up the surface a bit, so I was sinking in some places. I was keeping my speed up and got off the snowmobile tracks. The nose went over the edge of the road into ditch and when I went to back out the arse end started to follow. So rather than do anything risky I winched back onto the road.
Great day in the woods.
Anyone else go anywhere last weekend?
