Day 1,
Everyone made it off to a good start both Mat’s spot and Garry B’s APRS are functioning and I have been able to watch their progress. The trip has also had its first mechanical problem and I have received a request to bring up some additional spare parts when I head out. As of right now Garry G is in Williams Lake and Mat and his group are in 100 mile house and the 74’s are somewhere in-between them. I am hoping to talk to Garry on the radio later tonight and will pass on additional updates

Well the thunderstorm forced me to take down my radio antennas so was not able to get an update that way. Good thing is that Williams Lake has Blackberry coverage.

7 trucks in total rendezvoused in Williams Lake, Mike McT, Bill W, Garry B, Garry T, Robert C, Glenn, and Mat. They left for McIntyre Lake around 8:30pm. Looks like they will be getting into camp a little late tonight

I did not hear from Garry B to night on the radio but Garry's APRS locator had them almost to there base camp around 5:30pm. I did receive a few reports of thunderstorms in there area and communications where still getting wiped out on the HF bands even locally. I will try again Tuesday night.

Mat's spots last report was after 1pm, Must have lot line of site on the satellites.

finally leaving...

:bounce::bounce2::bounce::bounce2: Leaving North Van now,... be there either late toninght or tomorrow morning. depending on how i feel .. I might just take my time and camp out somewhere tonight for the fun of it...

this is cool and no bug bites either

Spot Check In #42

If you enter their coordinates from their checkpoints into Google Earth, you can see where they travelled to. Isn't technology grand?

How many meter band? Does the repeater cross to 2 meter?
P

We where on 80 meters and I was relaying throw someone on Salt Spring Island and Squamish, No repeaters involved  it would have been nice to have direct contact but bands are not that great right now and I don't have a great big antenna :crybaby:

Looks like they were exploring on top of a plateau, must have been very cool!

It didn't sound like it was that cold, no jackets required from what I was able to make out listening to half of a conversation.

I meant cool, metaphorically
