what all have you done in the rear when running a mid 70's 4spd tranny besides the aa propeller mount thing?

Built a crossmember that supports the weight under the tranny (craddle mount).

Pros: holds up the drivetrain REALLY well. Also acts as skid plate.

Cons: my design hangs down a bit low, but it doesn't necesarily have to be like that.

where do you bolt it to the tranny? mid 70's weren't made for a crossmember like the later ones

Sorry- I supported it under the last bit of the tranny. The weight sits on the rib of the transmission case, and is held in place by the two 10mm? grade 8 bolts.

I've put a ton of miles on this setup in two different pigs, both a 350 and a cummins, and have had no worries. It's not pretty, but it works.
