I am reaching 200k miles on my 60 and am not sure how well it is running right now. I am debating about either selling the 60 and buying something else. I don't know if I really want to do this. My second option would be to put in a new engine. I don't really have the skill needed to do this myself. Can anyone recommend a place that will do a conversion?

Another option is that maybe I could have someone do the engine mounts and install the engine then I could do the wiring and other stuff myself.

What do you guys think?

Sean

I have a complete wiring harness and TBI/manifold custom fitted for a 60 available.

I'm keeping my mouth shut on this one...

Regardless of how you get the engine in... I recommend Affordable fuel injection for their wiring harness. A quality piece with one hell of a customer service approach. And... the price was right.

I'd be more than happy to share my experience with you and let you take a LONG look at my conversion. keep in mind that no matter how much you THINK you can do it for, it'll cost you twice as much. and it'll take you at least twice as long. Whatever you do, DO NOT get your better half pregnant during your build. And even more than that DON'T get her pregnant twice during your build. It just makes things take longer.

Also, If you're planning to do the swap. Start buying everything now. Wait to get your motor and trans until you're getting close to pulling the trigger, and when you finally get them and are ready to jump in...DO IT. Don't hesitate, it'll cost you way more time than it's worth. Now that I'm so very close to finally starting my truck after 3 years I'm both excited and and very tired. I'm sure my enthusiasm will grow even more once she finally breathes again, but man I'm tired right now.

If you really want to do this and are commited to getting it done quickly, let me know I'll be more than happy to help in any way that I can.

What I meant was that... oh nevermind, you're right. I just can't shut up.
