As i said in my previous post about the EGR. I have found out that the problem is comming from the Cats. I would like to know if that caused the Exhaust Manifolds to turn Cherry red when i opened the hood. I was told yes but??

if the manifolds were red then there is a blockage of some sort down there.

Clogged Cats, just had Midas do a backpressure test. Very Low!!! So now i need a new cat.
The only thing that cloggs a cat is raw fuel. Oil and antifreeze will have no effect on them as far as I've been told. How has been the gas mileage on that thing lately?

Well the milage is 300 miles to a full tank. My 96 was about the same. So i avg 12mpg. Thats city and speeding on the highway. I just had a new Cat put in they ran the OBD2 and al is good. They ran the truck for 1hr 1/2 and all the engine temps and manifold checks out. I hope there's nothing else wrong. I guess i just had a bad Cat?? The truck sat in a gararge for most of its life. COuld that be why??
well if it was mostly short runs where it was running in a rich condition alot than yes that could be where the clog came from.

What color LC do you have???
I do field service for a company and was out there for work. I was coming in from NJ through the lincoln tunnel on Wednesday and got pulled over and questioned at length about the snorkle. Probably thought it was some kind of weapon.
