Does anybody know if there is anyone in the Edmonton area that does autobody chemical dipping? And has anybody done this? I have a wagon body that needs an acid bath. TIA. :beer:

i have been thinking about it, for a frame.
i'm not sure of the best way to treat the metal after the acid bath.
galvanized?
i suspect they rust from the inside-out. so i am more concerned with the inner frame.
let me known if you find a place.
:banana::wrench:

There used to be a place that did it. A cruiser buddy of mine did it a few years back....
Not sure of the place though. :hhmm:

Well, it appears that no one does this anymore, it seems the cost of 5000 gallons of corrosive liquid and the energy required to keep it at 180 degrees make it cost prohibitive. I could however have it soda blasted for $12-1500.00, which I can have done locally.

Well if you're going the sandblasting route....
We have used Prairie Sandblasting for land cruiser frames.
Cost is $100 for a frame job. You have to give them direction, because those guys are a little dense.

Yeh, I will end up blasting the body and the frame next spring, I think I will soda blast the body, lotta real estate on a wagon.
