Just for closure-
Found the service manual. The troubleshooting process for this code is very straightforward. It's either the steering angle sensor, the steering control ECU, or the cable between. Simple test procedures for each.
It ended up being the sensor. There's a video of how to remove a 200 steering wheel on the tube. Easy enough. Back in business.

Can you tell me where to find info on trouble shooting? also i am not mechanically inclined but i would like to figure out why i have the same intermittent code on my 15 LS460. please and thank you!

I assume it’s just for some option my truck doesn’t have, like precollision or something… I hope. I didn’t see any open connectors missing a cable, but it is hard to get your head up under there…
Haven’t found any feature not functioning yet.

It would be too good if that were my missing sensor connection, but from what I’ve read, everything relating to VGRS is on the drivers side.
There is supposed to be a little footwell lamp attached to the black plastic shield behind your hand in that photo. That connector could power that lamp, but now I’m remembering that lamp connector might be black instead.
