When was the last time you used one of these? :)

Interesting how the thread is on the main body / handle and the neat design of the adjusting nut collar. You can tighten that nut with another wrench too. It's about 16" long overall. Just cleaned it up a bit. it's surprisingly tight.

I'm picturing a fellow in coveralls carrying a wooden toolbox from his shoulder with this in it and going to work on a steam engine... :)

It's a Bemis and Call. I've seen an ad from 1905 that shows one very much like this.

Very nice find--looks tight as you said-great condition, too.

I parkerized it. Well, phosphated it actually. But I need to do a bit more on the handle. Still a bit of rust left.

Ohhhh,...:o

I thought you said Beautiful old WENCH,....:flipoff2:

Add mine to the collection.
My wife's father passed away in 66 and his tool collection has not been touched since then, except when I need to work on something at her Mom's house. He worked on the railroad, as to my second best tool is the RR rail.
The other was Government issued in 74. Can't think of any reason I needed that to work on aircraft..
