Have my eye on a 97 80 in Lynnwood, WA and wondering if anyone in that area would be wiling to have a look for me and let me know if it's really in as good shape as seller says online?

Let me know if you want any more specific pictures. Here's the one of the a/c compressor and the belt that doesn't line up right. It's odd - like the belt has a twist just off the pulley? It may be that it's fairly new and has a kink from being bundled up in storage?

Also, there looked to be some sloppy sealant on the front of the head. Maybe the headgasket has been changed??

74k miles? Wow. That's insane. $17999 seems a bit high... but dang.... i guess not too many to compare it too.

There are signs of a rust situation. Wonder what the rest of the underside looks like.

To be fair, $18K is the Craigslist price. It's got $17K on the window, and Tom said it was $15.5 IIRC where he found it online. Even then, still pretty high.

No lockers. Otherwise very clean and mostly very nice. Some shoe wear on the driver's kickpanel, and the rear lower hatch unlatches unevenly. And I'd prefer the correct floor mats over the generic new ones they threw in.

I'm not sure what to make of the belt. It didn't make any noise or seem odd when it was running, but I didn't notice the twist until I turned the motor off and was about to leave. The twin belts looked brand new, but were "Dayco Top Cog" belts. I didn't see the label on the a/c belt, but it looks to be the same style, which led me to believe that maybe it's just a new belt that had a twist when it was bundled in the package.

There was some surface rust underneath on a few things, but nothing major. The hitch looks like most of the hitches I've seen. The swaybar brackets and a few miscellaneous brackets (a/c dryer line bracket in particular) showed some evidence of being exposed to salt, but I didn't see any rust on the frame or body panels. According to the sales drone, it was originally purchased in Wisconsin, but had been in WA for the past several years.

The knuckles looked typically moist, but not dripping. The front axle housing was somewhat moist with engine oil (again, typical - at least of the two I've owned), but there were no drops on the ground. The engine compartment had been steam cleaned, so it's tough to see much from above.
