cheap means of obtaining FSM?

I suspect the bootleggers are downloading for 10 bucks, printing for 20 bucks, and reselling for 75.
Pirating can be profitable...until mr t comes after you.

I decided to download them like in the FAQ because I have more time then money right now....I'll eventually get a hard copy. Couple of things if you are thinking of downloading them too. For my '94 repair manual and wiring diagrams it took 5.5 hours over 2 days...well under the 12 that was suggested it would take in the FAQ and the Toyota server was slow as hell. It started out fast and then bogged down. If would have stayed fast I could have gotten everything in in under 3 hours for sure maybe under 2. Also, if you keep everything organized when you download it and have Acrobat Pro you can take all the small files and convert them into larger chapter files in about 30 minutes total. So, for 10 bucks and six hours of my time I now have the repair manual and wiring diagrams...worth it for me.

Beo that made me smile man, no one else said anything so I had to. I miss your old sig line.. I've passed that on to a few others.

Nakman,

Thanks.
A newbie mudder started using my sig line about 6 months ago so I changed it. This one has no humour but it works for me.

Maybe I'll bring back the techie one. :D

Bought my FSM from an ebay guy- or maybe he is THE ebay guy. So I just checked to see if there were crooked copied pages and sure enough I found some! What a rip! Should have went to CDan. Too late to complain, oh well, all the info is there. . . hopefully!

My 91 Manual looks just like landtoy80s. I've only used it once. But I carry it in the rig in the Toyota box. When I was out on the trail unloading some recovery gear it flipped out of the back of the Cruiser and split into a bunch of sections. My 94 manual did the same thing. Both are Toyota originals. What is sort of funny is different years cost different prices? The 94 manual was like $20 more from the same source. Also, one advantage to having the factory manual in the rig is that if you break down somewhere in the middle of nowhere and need to go to a mechanic they can use it as a source. Much better information than their general books.

For the cost of a brand new FSM is chump change considering the fact that you're buying one to do your own repairs instead of paying the stealers to wrench on your rig.

just my 2 cents ;p

Yeah, I will eventually get a hard copy to keep in the truck and for quick reference. But for right now the 80 or so bucks I saved downloading it can be put into giving her a tune-up (fuilds, filters, ect). Also, am I correct the FSM doesn't have the wiring diagrams in it? It would be worth the $10 just to grab those of techinfo.toyoyat. You don't need them very often, but if you have an electrical problem and don't you're SOL.

bought mine(for the 100 series)from someguy on Ebay, its the real deal. Saved a good $50 for the set of 2

..... but the hard copy makes for good bathroom reading, and the glossy pages help keep the "moisture" from staining :flipoff2:

Hey, a real quick one here. Whats a decent price on a used FSM? Thanks.

I got a new (93) FSM from a local toyota dealer for $75 or you can get a Haynes(?) for $15 (better than nothing).
