Cheap (ish) OEM fuel pre-filter

I'm wanting a prefilter for my 1HZ, the 23330-17020 factory 93+ 1HZ prefilter is kinda spendy new.

Would adding the factory spin-on style 12HT fuel filter to my HZJ73 as a prefilter be a bad idea? I assume I can get a 3rd party manufactured element for it...

I noticed when I changed my factory water separator filter there was more sh*t in it than i expected to see

What is the micron rating for the 12ht filter vs the 1hz you have now?

That’s what I’m having a hard time finding. Someone knows. The 12HT is “8 gallon” per minute flow. If that means anything.

The Ryco replacement for the toyota prefilter is 15.00 microns, the big Ryco replacement primary water separator is 15.00 micron.

The ryco replacement for a 12HT says 10.00 micron.

Will this impact fuel flow too much then? adding a factory 12HT filter ahead of the stock 1HZ water separator?
