Noah, how's the frig been working? I'm thinking of getting one and the ARB or Engle are about twice the $$ of the Edgestar. How is battery drain?

another comment on this, I am using the fridge about 3x a year, so I just couldn't justify the cost of an engel or another more expensive unit! I figure now I put the extra $ into a generator and now have all the power I could ever want. And the honda gen's are so quite it is unbeliavalbe.

Just a thought, you might want to peek over at expo and see how people run their fridges. A lot of members have a dual battery set up and run accessories off of that. Sweet deal on the fridge, One of those is in my future!

Thanks for the update. I am still waffling one which to get but what ever I spend, I would hate for it to kill a battery in one night. Might bite the bullet and go with the ARB or Engel.

I am running an Engel 120vac/12vdc and I have gone for 4-days parked without any problems on a single battery - this was in cool weather- so it did not have to cycle as much.

The key to using these things is to make sure they get good clean power-use large cables- and make sure they are well ventilated or kept in cool areas. If they are left in hot cars- they will draw in warm air and reduce the efficiency.

I added a second battery to allow me to use my heater and other 12 vdc items and added an isolator between it and my main starting battery so I never have to worry about being stranded. Solar panel is next so I can stay out longer:D

I'm running the smaller 43qt Edgestar with dual batteries. I've been able to run it for over two days with no issues and not starting the truck. When I first installed it, I tested it keeping it turned on in the back of my cruiser for over two weeks with only driving about 30 miles each day.

For the price, you cant beat it. I also purchased the insulation sleeve for it which probably helps make it more efficient. I have a thread on my install process...

I'm gonna get the Edgestar 43 qt. Looks like CA Compact Appliance has the best price. I will watch it for a few weeks to see if I can save a few $$. Talked to a few guys that said they paid $399. If anyone knows of a better souce, LMK.
