My awesome wife gave me an xtool diagnostic device for Christmas earlier this week. An old friend of mine who is a mechanic and I have been playing around with it and ChatGPT. The results are very promising.

I posted this earlier about observing marginally acceptable fuel trim for my 06 LC:

I'm just going to start copying and pasting my ChatGPT transcript in the next post. Keep in mind that everything up to where i indicated I was going to upload files was done via voice conversation over an iPhone while I was working on my garage.

I'm having trouble getting a clean export of the transcript and have used up my 20 minute break from festivities. I'll work on this later tonight or this week.

Long story short: just tell ChatGPT the problem you are experiencing, ask which sensors it wants recorded, and then upload the data. The results are impressive, at least with respect to analysis of the data and identifying trends.

Due to recurring file access issues, I had to restart the chat. This second exchange with ChatGPT is much cleaner than my first exchange since I had an idea of where the conversation would head.

As with almost everything else I have done with ChatGPT, it is amazing at data processing, analysis and description. It was able to provide a much more informative and concrete explanation of the fuel trim discrepancy between banks 1 & 2.

I'll pick up on the analysis of all of this tomorrow when I have more time.
