hi Guy.....Just got a Q for yous...i have a 1983 HJ60 That Will not keep up charge at night Wren 4wheeling in the Day It Is ok and silts at 13-14volts ldling and When driving it's up a bit more but onces i hit the light You need to take the revs to 1000-1500RPM to keep charge to the battey....there is a wire comeing from the back of the Alt strat to the battey and still no good

So it starts up fine in the morning but is not charging right away when started? Are you putting a multimeter and measuer you voltage with the motor off and on?

yep starts fine drives fine day or night but will not charge if just wheeling slowy at night

I'd pull the alternator and take it to get tested. Hopefully you have someone around that can test it.
