Me, Nate, Nat and my buddy Dave have been troubleshooting this for a while.

My charge light has been on since we rebuilt my engine after the headgasket blew. The battery and alternator are both fine. Now my truck is misfiring, it's been for a few months now on and off but it's lately gotten worse. I've got spark in all 4 cylinders, sparks/wires/cap are all new. Sometimes it runs like crap and the charge light will be on, other days it'll run fine and the charge light turns off when the engine is at low rpm's, it flickers when I give it gas. The lights and gauges brighten up too when it's having a "good day".

One theory is a filthy/clogged fuel injector. Another one is that I have another blown headgasket. Another is a stuck valve...

WTF is going on here? Any takers? :meh:

im thinking wiring harness now, not a fun job

Kyle start with the basics.

Are your wires tight to the battery and the alt lug? There is also a junction block up on the drivers side fender, follow the cable off the alt up and youll see it. Pop the cover and check that too. I have seen them get craped up from being coverd

Remove and cleanup & reinstall that batt ground on the block, I have seen those f-up before. That charge light is also connected to the break system (dont ask it really is) did you get ALL the break leaks fixed? is the res topped off?

Are you getting coolent/oil where it dosnt belong? Are you loosing water? Are you fouling plugs? if no, then its not a HG

Do a leak down test or a compression test to check for a bent valve (Its unlikely because you had that head redone, but not unheard of)

Lastly, those injector plugs tend to get brittle and break (ask me how I know) and they are b!tch to get on there after the manifold is on, I would try the shake test on the wiring harness to them to make sure they are TIGHT.

as i have been saying from day one you just need an 80:flipoff2:

Nawww, he just needs to do basic maintenance, but that entails to stop actually DRIVING it for a little while...
