@2001LC I already installed it, but there was a difference. The new one was a lot lighter than the old one. Does the weight matter?
Old CC weight compared to new. Indicates, how badly saturated old was. The added weight, is due to saturation of charcoal.
I keep a log of these weights. Which helps me "know" when R&R of CC was correct/justified.

What is the weight of a new or healthy CC? What all is attached when you weigh it?

My scale: NEW OEM
Year OZ.
06-0787.4/88.1
03-0590.1
98-02? I've not had a new. I've never replaced one.

I find the bad ones, weigh 18 to 25 oz. over new.

Well, I just replaced the LX470 vapor canister after already replacing the vacuum valve as my 2001 LX470 would occasionally turn but not start after a fresh full tank fill. Any other ideas why are more than welcome!

Here is a pic of the weighed NEW-old-stock (2076g) and OLD-original (2460g) vapor canisters for those who care:

I'm I reading your scale correctly. New 73.25 OZ, Old 86.75 OZ.. So old was 13.5 OZ over?

I don't think Charcoal canister would have cause intermittent start.
Possibles:
Fuel flow. Like pump and or filter.
EFI fuse contacts.
Cam or crank sensor or their wires.

Yup, 384g = 13.55oz

Yeah, the fuel filter (23300-50090) and/or the fuel pump (23221-66040) and its filter (23217-74021) would be my next guess, as such are likely still the original ones, as was the recently replaced vapor canister and the vacuum valve.

I just can't see how a full tank fill could impact the EFI fuse or the cam/crank sensors/wires as this only happens (and not always) after a full tank fill.

Could be coincidence. Could be, you were building tank pressure, which aided fuel pressure. Removing gas cap, released the pressure, reducing fuel pressure.

Crank no start, is either spark or fuel.

Well, I replaced the fuel filter (with OEM Toyota 23300-50090) last week and soon after the empty tank indicator went nuts, reporting empty when certainly not, moving slowly up/down back and forth. Eventually the fuel pump started acting up by shutting the engine off (as if no gas) after approx 100 yards of driving or even when just idling. Long story short, I ordered a "noname" for $165.- on Amazon and this showed up today (OEM Toyota 77020-60160).

Sweet. Please, a link to Amaron fuel pump you ordered?

BTW: Best to replace tank to pump housing gasket. Torque bolts in start pattern in two or more passes.
