A preface first... As you can see, I am a 62 owner, daily driver... But, made a mistake of having the wife drive it, had a trip out-of-town so I borrowed her car. She said, "Never Again", scared to drive it, rode rough and it did not STOP !!! So, looking at a 100 series to be my daily driver / family trips / pull camper. Keeping the 62 for something to work-on... oil leaks / rust repair.
Now my question.
I like the "white" 100 LC's, but not the colored trim piece that runs down the side. Can you change it out with LX trim pcs in white or paint?
I will be joining the 100 series owner group shortly. And YES, will start ASAP with lift, tires, bumpers.

Thanks!
Scot

You can special order with the color coded white trim pieces when you order the truck.

Given the Toyota prices for the trim pieces it might be cheaper to pull the trim off, paint it to match and reinstall it.

I would bet its painted underneath the trim already. if its glued on then no biggy if its cliped on you will have those showing.

I don't know how you would order the trim the color you want when buying new.......for the most part ya get what they got on the lot or what they can trade for, with some exceptions I understand.

They are clipped on. How do I know? Because my favorite car wash tore one of them off last week and they had to replace it. Very nice people. It is painted below the trim BUT there are also four holes (or more I suppose if we are talking different trim pieces) that are punched in the body to hold the mounting clips.

Forewarning, the trim pieces are not made to come off i.e. you have to break the tabs-either the trim tab or the mounting clip. I believe that the trim tab would break first (you ought to see how small and flimsy they are) and that would leave your trim piece worthless-as in what happened to mine.

You don't still have the old one by any chance for a couple of pics??

There’s also some double stick foam tape holding the edges to the body, this may be some what of a pain to remove. The clips just snap in to a grove on the trim and they are not all going in the same direction either. I can’t remember how the snap deal went on, other than it was a square hole on the panel. I hope this helps.

No, I do not have the old trim.

There are four clips. Say 1-4 going left to right. If you were on the DS, you would slide the trim on clips 3-4 at the same time. When the slide motion stops, you should be at the point where you snap on clips 1-2. So, 3-4 are already mounted on the body and 1-2 are already mounted on the trim. It is a slide and pop routine.
