Ok guys you can beat me:doh: I changed my mind on what engine to put in my old 40...I'm going to install a Toyota V-8 mated to a T-400 trans.

Well axles will be tested ;p as for the engine its a Toyota Marine 300hp VVT 1UZ and I will use a adapter plate to mate the T-400 to it.. the engine came out of a crate today and its just set in there to start making the mounts. Also have the complete wire harness,ECU and fuel pump.

This will be interesting.

This will be interesting. :D

Did you get the adapter yet? Custom?

Just curious where you sourced the motor. What's the weight on that compared to a small block?

Jim,

Going to order the adapter plate from Castlemain in Australia and the engine weight is about 430lb...my goal is to keep it as stock looking as possible:eek: after I get everything fabed up I will pull everything apart and have the frame powder coated and paint the body, money and time will dictate the speed on how long it will take.

THinking back to my Ford days, dont marine engines spin the opposite direction??? Or can you get em both ways?
They can be had both ways depending on which side of the boat the motor is mounted on.
