I abused 38.5's, then 39.5's, and now 37's with stock rear toyota stuff....IMO, you've got a bent housing issue...

Bruce busted a couple rear shafts too....not sure if he ever checked the housing tho...

worse...welded....

...busted a coarse spline pinion...or 5...
...busted a coarse spline pinion that was cryo treated...lasted a year, but busted...
...tore off a brake caliper bracket once...busted up the upper link mounts...busted a front 4340 inner axle...sheared a few lockout studs off....busted a t-case front output shaft...shattered a welded-ring Longfield....hhhhmmmm....most of those in the past 2-3 years too....

rear shafts seems to hold for me....pretty sure my housings are straight tho....

course, I've never had a u-joint break either....maintenance does wonders....

Do your axles go in and out easy? If the housing is warped then the will be a PITA to get in and out. Did you relocate your filler plug when you rotated your pinion up for the SOA? If not then your not getting enough oil down the tubes to the bearings.

Wheel bearings get lubed by differential lube??? Why do I grease the wheel bearings and install axle seals if diff lube is supposed to get clear out there?

REAR semi-floater wheel bearings....the ones in the housing for the rear axle...

fronts or full-floats are a different animal completly

The shafts fit in but do take a little persuasion. This axle will get another weekend then out it comes for a morphed Toyota/TLC unit.

Well there you go, but the filler will also affect it.
