My center differential is leaking from the front side. I can't tell at this point if it is the gasket for the front extension housing or the oil seal.

If it is the oil seal, then I'll have to take it in, I don't have the tools/knowledge/dexterity to take apart and reassemble the front out shaft assembly and reseat seal and snap rings.

Assuming (hoping) it is simply the gasket:
  • Can the front housing be removed along with the front output shaft assembly while the remainder of the case stays in place? Can I just remove the six bolts and break it open at the gasket?
I've removed the front drive shaft and the six bolts from the front housing already. My light faded before I could see if I needed to remove anything else. I've been reviewing the FSM and reviewed related threads such as this one https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/transfer-case-oil-seal.675028/#post-8193607 and
this one https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/center-diff-transfer-case-leak-at-the-front-need-advice.357847/ but still can't figure it out.

Any input would be appreciated.

It's most likely the seal. If you take it in, have them replace the bearing as well. No reason not to.

I drove mine right up to Slee and relaxed in the shop while Joe worked his magic. I have less and less desire to crawl under my truck these days. It's about a 2-3 hour job.

Thanks, I suspect you are right. I wish Slee was closer, but I have a couple of options nearby. 2-3 hours for a pro translates into about 9 hours for me.
