picked up a cdn m101. its in great shape! i would like to find the original tarp that came with these does anybody know know were i might look? thank you .......

They show up from time to time on Ebay, etc. I believe that someone on the M101 Yahoo list found an outfit that will cut one to spec, but you'll have to check the archives there on that. I'm not aware of any biz that lists these as stock. I think the original supplier indicated they'd make more -- with a minumum order of 100
In the Files area of the M101 list, there is a scaled diagram of the tarp. I bought a 6'x8' nominal size cheapo tarp. I folded over the existing outer seam and added new grommets to this reinforced area per the diagram, EXCEPT I added an extra pair of grommets on the front and back ends. This really holds the tarp down better than the original configuration.
Finally, the tarp works best in conjunction when it is held down with a bungie cord run completely around through the grommets. I ordered suitable cord and hooks (SA 9) from McMaster Carr. Here are several pics of my tarped M101. The tarp has PVC stays under it, which you can also find info about in the M101 list Files.

Here is my thread on the subject of an M416 tarp. The outfit I used for mine would certainly match whatever you needed. I much prefer the vinyl as it is much more water proof. I reinforced the corners with some canvas on the inside bonded by ShoeGoo and have had zero issues.

Great idea for reinforcing the corners and edges so they'll hold grommets better.
Next time, I'll incorporate that tip when folding the edges over to get things right sized.
BTW, I like the look and feel of canvas, but plastic is much more waterproof -- and cheaper.
