CDL activates by istself on start-up - VDJ200 (1 Viewer)

Hi, on our 2010 VDJ-200 the CDL is activating by itself (at least the dash light) on start up.

At first I thought I was bumping the switch with my knee but it has happened several times and i have made sure not to hit it. The CDL light will blink on the dash. If I try to drive a bit and turn the wheel or shift from D-N-R ar any other trick to help it engage and it won't. Also, if I hit the switch again and try to disable it and it will not disable.

If I restart the car then the problem clears.

Any thoughts on where to start troubleshooting?

Common 200 gremlin that no one has figured out yet unfortunately. Sooner or later you will get hit with the 4Lo light doing the same.

Yeah, there are a couple of threads on this... drive the truck for about 15 minutes then shutdown/restart... it then goes away. Some have said that it just needs "exercise", but I have now found that it comes back more frequent after I have actually used my CDL. No ideas on an actual fix.

It's more like a "mogwai", a gremlin that does not hurt. Just don't get it wet! (joke)

I would say "gremlin" IF you are already off-road and need to switch to 4-Lo, as this is inhibited when it happens and the reset can be intermittent too.
