No way, where do I get one!

I almost wish I never saw that!

Pimp..............................

gotta show off huh.......... :flipoff2:

this one came from Porta Rico, $40 :) there are at least 2 different version, the other has less bells and wistels, I have both. This one can actaully use the OEM speakers and I beleive it will cut off the radio when using it.

they are not too easy to find, just ask Cdan......he was looking for ages, finaly found one.

I've got a Midland compact unit with a 4' Firestix antenna. Works awesome for my purposes and cost about $100 total

cheapo radioshack ($40) gets the job done on trails and is bulletproof.

Got a Cobra 18wxstII for teh 80 because it has face mounted speaker (for in dash installs) and is a generally nicer CB. (weather band etc) $50 at walmart.com.

Uniden 520 Pro XL- has RF gain to pull in the weak/crappy signals. Make sure you get your antenna tuned.

The 510 is good too without the gain.

Yep, I run the Uniden Pro XL 510 with twin Superflex 4' sticks in my Toy mini. I have absolutely no complaints, but definately tune your antenna(s).

Pimp, I think the other one you have is the one with the bells and whistles, you know, like mine with a PA. If I knew how to post pics I could show you. Mine came with the truck and was dealer installed. :grinpimp:

The radios are limited to 4 watt output. Just get the bells and whistles you want. I have a basic midland that does just fine. It does have the PA which I use mostly to screw with homeless people and illegal immigrants. Don't skimp on the antenna. I have a K-40 and am really pleased with it. Be sure to get it SWR tuned to match your radio. It maximizes your transmitting power. Mount it on the biggest flattest surface for best transmission. I have mine midway on the fender to the left of the hood. I didn't want it on top because I would whack the s*** out of every sign I go under.
Check out this site. http://www.k40.com/Technical/antennafaq-10.html

nope, they one I pictured(CB40F) is the top of the line AFAIK, PA, standby and all the other stuff, the other one is a CB40M, its prety basic, 3 dials, 2 push bottons

wpuld like to see pics of yours(and where instaled), can email them to me, jholmaas@hotmail.com

Uniden of the $35 variety, proper coax, properly tuned quality antenna using a $10 SWR meter.

I wish someone would point me to one of these $10 SWR meters - just about all of the one's I'vve found are $30 or more - unless they're 250 years old, on ebay, and are capable of handling 1 watt (okay, I'm being a little loose with my numbers there...but they're still old).

Amateur Radio

FM vs AM
50 watts vs 3.

'Nuff said.

The guy at Radio Shack in Portland Oregon did it for free (I bought the antenna there)

Don't buy one

You really don't want to buy one. It is going to be like a steering wheel puller. Once you use it. it will be few and far between times that you will ever need ii again. Definitely try to find one to borrow / use .

Got mine at Flying J Travel Plaza. Check your truck stops.
