Hey mudders, My cousin just gave me a brand new 1980s CB, so I think its gonna get mounted. Unfortunately, I cant find a good spot to put it in my 81 fj60. Any ideas? Better yet, any pics?! Lets see'em!

This CB is pretty small - not sure what yours is like. Tuffy is always an option, too.
This setup works well, and I mounted a speaker under the dash where it looks like there are speaker holes on top - it's hidden up there and you can hear it nicely. I think I did a writeup a while back, it might come up in a search. I have it somewhere, but just can't find it right now. I have more pics if you want.

inside the tuffy, with a speaker mounted to the side of the tuffy and a hole in the side to rout mike cable.
I would love to put a Ham in the vicinity of the rear view mirror on the ceiling, but don't have any ideas on how to do that. anybody got suggestions?
with the 6bt and accompanying 5spd the shifter is a few inches further back then stock, so it will probably go between the shifter and the firewall

cobra makes an all-in-the-mic unit that mounts anywhere you want.
we have one, it works ok. If I had it to do over, I would go with a regular dash-mount unit as the all-in-one means that the part that suffers the most abuse (the mic) is also the most expensive.

I made a white-trash mount out of wood. I put velcro on the on the cb and on the bottom of the mount so I could remove the mount and/or cb and use it in another vehicle if needed. Easy, cheap, no drilling, no modifying, no cutting; functional.
It's the beer coosie that make the picture!
