I have a Hydrolocked 80 in need of a HG job. I sadly don't have the space to do this work in my driveway or garage. I see that the folks at CARSPEC are reccomended by the forum. I called and they are not accepting any new clients without a referral. So I'm looking for someone who has worked with CARPSEPC would be willing to provide me a referral?
Or if you have a local shop that you would trust with this job I'd love to hear about them. Thanks!
CarSpec may be the recommended shop for LC's in MSP, but its hard to get your rig seen.
I've been shopping around for a mechanic here in the Twin Cities metro area for this HG job I need done and after lots of phone calls (some shops refused the work) I have settled on Dynotech Automotive in St. Paul to do the HG work. I "interviewed" the owner and he was very patient with my questions regarding his approach, relationship with the machine shop etc. After having it towed to their shop today I spoke with one of their techs about concerns I have about fuel present in the oil (via a Blackstone report) and he was happy to discuss the injector system with me and my options as I had the sent out for service 2 years ago. Throughout this process they have met a high bar I hold for communication and I am excited to work with them. Of course the proof is in the work they do. So I'll report back here for future folks searching for mechanics in MN.
I had a great experience with Dynotech in Saint Paul. They are familiar with Land Cruisers and a couple folks there are Toyota enthusiasts. Happy to share my experience in further detail.
