I did lot of sounddeadner in my FJ40, then the carpet kit from cruisersolutions. I liked his carpet kit, because it was very complete - covered the tank and side pannels. It made a big differeance..

I love that setup! Is that Quiet Crap? I'm going to do that on my 76'

As far as rust and stuff, I'm going to sodablast the body, put some rust inhibitor or POR 15, prime/paint, Quiet Crap and carpet it.

I am a fan of the carpet.

Replaced mine when I redid my truck. Put in a marine grade. :D
Five sections total just like what it had in 1973. One for the back, one driver side, one passenger and two for the trans. Speaker added back in High School. ;). Have had FJ since July of 1973.

That is fantastic. (Owned since 1973) And it looks like it is in great shape! Do you run it with the top on or off in the summer, and did you add the optional AC system if not? ....just curious. (My brother has a '67 and is thinking of keeping his top on and adding the AC kit.) What kind of noise reduction do you get out of those carpet kits? When I drive these gravel back roads it sounds like breaking beer bottles all the way home. The rubber mats helped a lot, but there is nothing on the wheel wells to stop those big gnarly tires from throwing rocks up at those exposed surfaces. And, in the summer we are running with the bikini top on, rather than the hard top, so we have moisture to worry about. Thanks.
