Can anyone tell me the dimensions of the opening measured right at the tailgate? I'm basically trying to figure out what's the biggest box that I can slide into the 100. I know similar questions have been asked...but I wasn't able to find this specific q/a.

Thanks!

definitely wider than a sheet of plywood (i.e. 4' wide, but you have to have the plywood above the wheel wells to fit), not sure about height, but I know a dishwasher in its box fit laying down (bosch, you can find the dimensions on the internet, it was just at Christmas time) with the door closed.

~42.5" if you're counting the little 1/2" tall lip around the wheel wells
~44" if you ignore the lip.

It's going to depend how you measure it...

The top corners are curved, and the interior trim panels intrude into the space a bit

The top "flat" (excluding the radius) is about 35"

So the biggest box you could slide in (with 3rd row seats removed and 2nd row stashed) would be:

35" (wide) x 37.5" (tall) x about 72" (deep). Ok...I'm not sure about that last number.

I appreciate everyone offering replies, sometimes I don't trust myself to really measure. I am strongly thinking of putting in a fitted "floor" of 3/4" plywood anchored to the various existing anchor points, so that I can add in more helpful anchor points for gear (fridge, boxes, etc) so these measurements are helpful. BTW, what would you call such a thing? I can't find an exact name, and everything else is too generic to be helpful when I search. //apologies for the moderate threadjack//
