I have a feeling that Uncle Toy didn't want to remove the fan since 1) it's already part of the manuf process and easy to carry over from the 60 or 2) didn't really wanna find out what'd happen if there wasn't a fan or 3) perhaps this is a band aid for a design issue with regards to excess heat "pooling" around the intake manifold or 4)i'm just talking out of my arse and I'll shut up now.
