I'm breaking ground early next week on a 24x32 garage / shop at our house here in Durham. While construction is going, I need to find a place to stow my car trailer. I could pay to store it locally at Ample Storage, but was wondering if anyone in the are had space for a couple months?

You would be welcome to use it responsibly if wanted. I'm in West Durham.

Let me know!

I'd like to, but I'd lose the spot for my own trailer.

This is a long way from free but when shopping you may wish to call a couple boat storage places. We have one here that charges $30/month and another that is $25. Not sure how that compares with other place you are considering.

I have acreage in Caswell County you are welcome to use but it is completely unsecured and in a location well documented to have sticky fingers. I would not recommend.

Good luck.

I'll make the offer but I am way out of your way. Plenty of room

The thought did cross my mind. Need to get my M101 empty first and finish cleaning up some brush, then we could do that @S4Cruiser if you wanted!

Or you could park that M101 at my place and I can give it a good testing for the 80.

The problem is that my trailer is full with 3 yards of broken concrete right now. If you want to help unload it @erymer or @NCFJ , then we can put it on top of another trailer.

Nooooooooooooo thanks

You can come and dump it down the slope of the ravine on our property, makes good rip rap to control future erosion. You don't want to be anywhere near the ravine in a major storm

Up side is that it makes a perfect shooting range.

If by help, you mean drinking beer, supervising and providing the occasional snide or inappropriate comments, I'm your guy.

Seriously though If you need help I'll gladly try.

Nah, I was kidding, thanks for the offer though.

Jon, how long does your trailer measure from hitch to ramps, with the ramps folded up?

I have it Jon just doped it off at my house. We live very close. Did not realize how close

Dang...for some reason the thread subscription email feature no working for me!! I had no idea there's been so many replies!

Thank's for everyone's input and offers! John got me setup out at his place, thanks again John!!

Hopefully I'll be wrenching on my cruiser in the next few months!

If you need another set of hands to help with the shop construction, let me know!

Thanks for the offer! Luckily for this project my only role is to come home from my day job and critique someone else's work...paying my uncle (who's a contractor by trade) to build it for me!

That's pretty awesome. We might have to talk details, I'm considering outsourcing my shop build as well.

Yeah it was a tough choice to build or pay to be built. Part of me wanted to build it as I enjoy it but it would take longer. Also cost of me to build would've been less but not by a huge amount percentage wise.

The main deciding factor was how we financed the project. Ended up using a BBT construction to perm product where in the end everything is lumped back into a new fixed rate mortgage. We wanted to refinance anyways to take advantage of lower rates so this was a plus. BBT requires construction to be done by a licensed contractor so it made sense to have my uncle do it.

Also, I was able to include a two post lift and nice two stage compressor as part of the total loan. Better to pay this off over 15 or 30 years at 3.65% versus putting on a credit card at prime plus whatever their rate is. I can then use any cash savings for tools, work benches, etc.

Should be a fun project to watch. They are planning to pour the slab one day next week. Massive footings and will be a 6" floor with rebar and fiber mesh.
