My car door seals on my 35 year old Toyota Hiace are basically in a good shape since the rubber and foam is in a good condition without cracks, deterioration etc. But the foam part has been squeezed flat in some areas and does not seal up very well anymore since it does not "bounce back" to the original shape when I open the door. Is there a way to give the foam part its original shape again? I was thinking a large number of clothespins arranged in the flat areas to squeeze them back, put the entire "assembly" in an oven at maybe 80 degC for a few hours (should resemble som very hot desert days in the sun) and hope that the foam memorizes the new shape.
Any other ideas?
