I know some people have tried different approaches to replacing the Navi screen/system with a unit that supports CarPlay. Has anyone tried that dash mount system from Car and Driver and if so what was your experience and how did you mount it in your Land Cruiser?

I saw an ad for this just today, had never heard of it before. Definitely curious about this one as it would add CarPlay at a somewhat reasonable price. Time for some research

Why not just get a vent mount and put your phone in there with a Bluetooth connection? Maybe not a slick of a UI but seems a little cleaner to me.

I wonder if, in states where it is illegal to interact with your phone while driving, this is a “loophole”
