I greased the spider joint and can't remove the fitting.

Any ideas? When I greased the slide yolk on that same shaft the grease did not ooze out, so it's definitely clogged. Are these connected somehow? Will releasing pressure from the slide yolk help this one get loose?

I guess I'm supposed to be able to loosen the grease fitting but I can't get a grip on it.

Looks like camping may be on hold till I can get this thing off..

I've read stories online of people breaking their zerks, so I hope that doesn't happen.

My current idea; to look for a tube clamp that I can wrap on the top end of this and grab it with pliers.

Grab it with a pair of vise-grips or channel locks and rock it side to side while pulling out. It takes about 4X as much force as you would think. If it is a new grease fitting, it will loosen up after you use it about 10 times. I had the exact same thing happen to me and it had me worried for a bit.

That happend to me also. I just stuck a flathead screw driver in there and pried it off.

Thanks

Thanks guys! It's surprising how much easier it was with just a vice grip on it.

Pulling the grease tube made me feel like I was giving it all of my strength. A light pull with vice grips made it come right off...

If you guys didn't say anything I would have been too worried to pry it off.

Thanks!!!

This may be a hijack but with my grease gun that has a hard line and the same end as what's in this pic I couldn't get at a couple zirks. Does a flexible one fix this or do I need a different end?
