They are planning on 6 mpg during race conditions. We plan at 5 mpg. Our tank is slightly bigger so pitting will be in the same location for each truck. That was a big relief and made my job much easier
I will be interested to see how this turns out, with my quasi understanding of turbo engines and NA engines to make the same power the turbo engine should be at a richer AF and actually be burning more fuel.

For example to make 250hp you'll be doing it at 12.8:1 and they will need 10psi and will be at 11.5:1, the air requirements for making 250hp will be roughly the same unless somehow the TTV6 is magically much more efficient.

Either way I really look forward to seeing Monica back out there and it will be cool to see the 300 compete.

Race prep is near complete. Testing went really well last week. Tonight we buttoned up the 2016+ refresh in prep for wrap. @Box Rocket knocked it out the park with the wrap design.

That makes nose job #3?

Can't wait to see how it turns out.
I think this makes 4, it had both versions of the 08-15 LX before LC conversion.. at least I’ve seen pictures of both…

There were 2 different LX's built.

Are they all factory metal parts or are you allowed to run any lighter composite body panels?

That's all sheet metal right from the dealership, OEM parts.

Curious if moving to 2016+ saved any weight? Would love to see someone replace the front clip on a LX daily driver! Not sure the internet/MUD could handle that. :)

We didn't weigh anything before/after but I can't imagine any weight savings. The parts are near identical outside of slight shape differences.

My guess is that it's for Lexus so that it presents as the current version of the vehicle for maximum product recognition value.

Nope. That truck has been privately owned and supported for years.

So then why the new metal?

Quoting Kurt from post# 663 above:

"Tonight we buttoned up the 2016+ refresh in prep for wrap".

They wanted the ~2008 LX570 that used to look ike a 2008-15 200 to look like a 2016-up 200.

The front sheet metal was pretty wrinkled after several seasons. Perfect time for a facelift.

I am so NOT a fan of these front end swaps.
Why? You just prefer the earlier design? Or something specifically about putting a different face on a rig?

Gotcha. Metal had racing scars and as long as it was being replaced the change was made to the current version due to owner aesthetic preference.

I think Adam is saying he doesn't like the 60 Series grill on the 100 as pictured. ;)
