G'day Guys,

I was wondering if someone could help me. I have a winch that runs regular 8mm wire rope. Can anyone recommend brand of billet style fairlead that is durable enough to use with wire rope or do I have to use the roller style?

Cheers,

Ben

I use a Cast iron (Hawse) fairlead that came with my warn. the aluminum may become scared.

you need that cast iron hawse like Niner said. aluminum hawse is too soft and the wire will shred it apart in no time.

Thanks Guys,

One phone to ARB. One cast iron 'Hawse' style fairlead compatible with a Warn winch enroute for $90 Australian - Part No. W7608 if anyone is interested.

Cheers,

Ben

I guess if it's en route it's a bit late to mention this, but most shops that install winches will sell you one cheaper, lots of winches come with the hawse, lots of people upgrade to the roller, so shops end up with a pile of the hawse ones kicking around that were paid for by the winch purchase, but the customer didn't want
I got mine for $25, unused
