What all do you need to add a factory subwoofer to a LC?

Adding a Hoppy trailer harness has led me to an unused connector in the right rear next to the speaker. I was guessing it might be for an amplifier and sub setup. I tried some searching, but found nothing useful. I would like the stereo to have a little more bass but I would really like to keep things more original and less custom at this point.....

You might have to find the LX450 center console (it has a factory sub) i think the LC had cupholders. Wish i just had the cup holders, the factory sub is kinda weak.... if i had the time and $$$$ i would build a custom sub enclosure where the first aid kit's located. I've seen some pics of this done w/ a 8" sub. + amp. really nice. clean looking.

You can put a sub where the factory paper sub is, or use that space to hide amps. Couple people on here have done it with the amps, have only seen one setup with another sub in the factory spot and it was custom not just swapping the subs.

Do you mean a aftermarket subwoofer? I thought all US Spec 80's came with a factory subwoofer. But if you don't have one, consider yourself lucky. It is worthless. If you want to hear more bass you need to add something more than the factory set up.

There was a recent post in which someone had a custom box made to fit behind the factory trim piece in the same location as the factory sub. I believe the amp was behind there also. This resulted in a completely stock look. This is the route I will be going.

why add a factory subwoofer when you can get an aftermarket one that will sound 100 times better and actually give you some bass for less?

I put two Slimline 8" Kicker Subs in my rear gate.
It doesn't "boom", but it gives me tight base which is what I wanted.

If the factory sub is weak, I would still prefer to have a stock looking installation. There is an unused connector next to the right rear speaker, would that have signals form the stereo that I could feed into an amp and a small sub right under the right rear speaker. I haven't seen a picture of the factory setup, so I may be missing some basic knowledge about what goes where.....
