thanks for the heads up

Mark:

I get what you are saying now. I'm pretty sure I wasn't on the gas when I was shifting- I was getting a little close to a light pole to risk speeding up.

Thinking back to the past, like I posted yesterday, on all of my other 4WD's I naturally came off of the gas as I reached down to engage the 4WD. Since this is my first push-button 4WD I wasn't really thinking about it so there is a chance I engaged too soon. This is definitely good to know for the future. I will make sure I'm more careful in the future. I hope to have new tires soon after next weekend as well so I can put the whole tread wear question to rest. BTW, I'm taking the truck into Bergstrom on Monday. I'm hoping for better results.

Thanks.

I learned something on this thread too. (i know, who cares). I routinely engage the 4wd on my tacoma in snowy conditions. I have been rather brazen on some occasions doing so. Snow also makes for very low traction conditions. This thread was a good reminder to take it easy when engaging these parts.

sounds like tires may be an issue as well.
