This plate came with a 1965 I bought. It had an extra F engine and transmission. This looks like correct holes for bell housing. Can anyone tell me what it is? It is a very thick piece of steel

Looks like it is for either a V8 or transmission conversion. That profile is like a 4 speed transmission flange.
It’s an adapter plate used for 3 speed tranny to Chevy v8 engine, but missing the special bearing retainer that should go with it

No, but it was a custom made Downey bearing retainer. Unfortunately your adapter plate is just about useless without that bearing retainer, actually your plate is useless because zero Landcruiser owners are doing V8 swaps with 3 speed trannys, sorry for the bad news.
