Just curious if anyone has any insights on this. Can the SDM parts be installed on a non factory SDM equipped models of the 250 series?
Can I buy all the parts and then install it down the line on the 1958 trim? I'm assuming there would be a software competent to deal with as well.

Obviously the easy answer is just to buy the sdm equipped trim but there is a pretty significant cost difference between the two trims with and without the SDM. Just contemplating if this is even feasible/cost effective option.

Unless you can get all the parts from a wrecked vehicle, it is probably not worth it. The actuator assembly alone is almost $10k from Toyota.
