I recently completed a rectangle-to-circle headlight/headlamp swap for a Land Cruiser trim LC250.
Not super technical but not at all "plug and play" either.

You need a total of ten parts to make this possible. Although others have likey swapped these headlights before me, I belive this is the first successful full-blown install from scratch. I say that because many of the parts involved did not have part numbers from Toyota yet. We had to request the part numbers to be made which is not uncommon when a brand-new model comes out. I have a kit put together with all 10-parts if anyone wants to do this on their own. I will post a video on this in the next few days once edited.

I will make another kit for rectangle replacment for 1958/First Edition owners in the next week or so.

LC250-CHK - Circle Headlight Kit | Ed Martin Toyota Parts
  1. Qty 1 - 81056-60N90 – LH computer sub assembly
  2. Qty 1 - 81016-60N90 – RH computer sub assembly
  3. Qty 1 – 81185-60N90 - LH Lamp Assembly
  4. Qty 1 – 81145-60N90 - RH Lamp Assembly
  5. Qty 4 – 81536-46120 – LED yellow (top and bottom)
  6. Qty 2 – 8112C-60N90 – LED white (middle)
If anyone has any questions, let me know. I will post the video and installation instructions that will show how to install remove the front bumper. NOTE: after install, the MID will show a headlamp malfunction fault, this can easily be remedied in GTS+ (formerly Tech Stream) with a head lamp initialization sequence.

FWIW: 2025 Model year doesn't have First Edition. Only 1958 and Land Cruiser.

Curious if you have seat of the pants light output. Which approach allows you to see further down the road? Could you tell?

Great question, but I have no idea. I did a very unscietific test with the lights off in the shop and I couldn't tell one being better than the other.

Leave it as is with mismatched headlights. Has a sort of quizzical/sherlock holmes vibe to it. Or like it was poked in the eye.

Anyways, the important thing is to look cool!

Can I apply this on my LC 2025? I scouted Toyota dealers in my area, Keene, NH. However, I was told it will cost upward of $11 K, without even labor cost factored in.

I m just too far to drive in. Is it possible for me to buy the parts from you and we work out some arrangements with the local dealers?

This should work fine with 2024 - 2026 model years.
We sell the kit online and you can have you local dealer install it. We charge $1400 for labor, it's an all-day job, bumper and grille get removed and needs recalibrated in GTS+. Should be under $4500 all-in with tax amnd labor.

Find a mudder who wants to swap and make a day of it! I prefer the rectangles myself :D

Something is broke, we'll get this fixed ASAP. Sorry for the inconvenience

I love this! That said, the price is a hard pill to swallow. I love the round headlight look, the whole 60 vs. 62 front end comes to mind here. I’ve considered buying the 1958 trim model just to get the round headlights but you have to give up a lot of standard creature comforts for that trim. This makes it possible to have your cake and eat it to; so long as you can afford and/or justify it haha.

I ordered a 1958 solely for the round headlights and cloth seats. I owned 3 BJ60s back in the day, and no 62s. It was round or nothing for me. And I find there is too much tech as it is…

It's kinda the same when people tell you "Nice Jeep Patriot you drive man." when looking at your ride from the back.

like when people see your Lexus and think, "I wonder if that Trophy Wife still has her "Frat Girl Bod" after having the kids?"

And for the record... my wife wanted me to trade the LC250 for a new LX, I politely declined

Hahaha...not the LXOT bud.

For the record...you have a smart wife. Do NOT let her see the GX though.

I am happy you love your "Pratriot". 😅

Don’t take anything Mrego says too seriously. Houston is a relatively affordable major metro compared to many large U.S. cities, so sometimes people stretch for a high end vehicle as a status symbol, which can lead to a bit of a ‘look down on other vehicles’ mindset. Funny how his conversations often head in that direction. I, for one love all Land Cruisers that’s why I’m here. I’m an all Land Cruiser appreciator.
