SILVER Star
Hi fellas,
I'm looking for some education on windows at my house. They're all vertical slider windows and some of them are not sliding evenly but all of them operate fine w/o any broken springs or hardware. The house was built in the early '90s and the windows seem to be of custom sizes with attention to details.
I've had few quotes on window replacement and these #s go from mild to wild. There are 31 wooden windows so the cost will be expensive for a replacement project regardless of the vendor. However, I was wondering if they can be refurbished by replacing the existing double pane glass with modern Argon (or whatever is appropriate for 7,000' elev), re-seal and un-warp few of them on the south side of the house.
I was hoping to remove a window then have it refurbed and installed for ease of the pocketbook. After few years, all windows will be replaced.
Is this done or can it be done? Can sashes be un warped? Thanks for any inputs.
