Hey guys, new to the forum. I have an 89 FJ62 that im preping for her spring over.. I have a few questions i would greatly appreciate for someone to answer. I already got a set of 36 tsl radials and was wondering what gears i need to be runniing? In general, what is the price range to have gears installed? Also, Im in dire need of an exhaust manifold, any help, suggestions, opinions, 2 cents, 9 quarders, whatever info you can provide to help my cruiser to be the best that the deserves lol.. Thanks a bunch guys. (Picks to come)

You really need 4:88 gear ratio. Unless you buy the kits and install them yourself then its far cheaper to buy the kits already built......you are looking at a grand for this. Around here it would cost some where around 200 to 300 bucks to have the kits built maybe more

I had mine done (4.88 gears, bearings, set up etc) for 500 a piece.
Its pricy for sure, but from what I understand...well worth it in lieu of the 4.11/ 36 in tire combo.

PICS MO FO!

No extra cost on you for me to ship;). The manifold is actually manifolds. There is two pieces. They are not that heavy at all. and I had them off recently...they are in fine shape;). I might even have a extra gasket laying around.

Be aware that putting in any ratio lower than 4.11 will require that you grind some material off the spider gear pin in order to clear the ring gear once it's bolted to the carrier. There are already some reliefs on both ends of the pin to accomodate oiling the spiders, so it's not a big deal, just extend them the length of the pin.

I had to grind a little off the ring gear when I installed my 4:88's. I run 36" TSL's with 4:88's and it works fine. I do have a 350 stroker motor and the 700R4 so more power and more gears are always good.

I just finished adding an NP203 doubler which adds at least twice the fun.....
