See previous post for photo.

I'm heading out of town in a week so I figured I'd better let you know so you can let me know if you want to come. I will be back Oct. 19. You can leave messages at
(604) 575- 1426

Details: Friday- leave no later than the 3:30 Ferry to Langdale since its getting dark early.
- trail in is slow but its mainly all downhill so I don't forsee any problems.
- lots of flat grassy area's for tents but you can sleep on the table tops in
that building you see on the photo.

Saturday - explore all the abandoned buildings
- set up a hot tub ( if I get my system built by then)
- some recent barge in logging in area with logging roads to explore.
- old water system may be repairable. (gravity feed)

Sunday - I have to work nite shift so I will be packing and leaving right after
breakfast.
- depending on size of group not everyone has to leave so early and can
stay behind and pack up and leave at a more leisurely pace.
**** the trail out is more arduous and so you need to leave yourself 3
hours to get out. More if its a large group helping each other out.

If the weather is bad everyone can take shelter in the old mess hall (photo) its dry, roomy, out of the wind and has a fireplace. There also is a separate building with toilets that worked.

hello i would love to come. i dont have a landcruiser, but i have an 85 toy turbodiesel pickup. its kind of like a landcruiser, in the way that its slow and goes anywhere.
i could probably help out repairing the gravity water system, i was a pipefitter for 2 years. can you give me a little more info about whats wrong with it, and what parts might be needed? im guessing this is a gravity feed water system for toilets, sinks, and not for drinking water?
anyways my truck is locked lifted winched. ive heard of the camp before but never been, although it has been on my list of things to do all summer.
im taking it most people would be coming from the vancouver area, then ferrying over? where would a good place to meet up on the sunshine coast side be?

Ha, ha. I just replied to your post at FIBC. Where are you coming from?

The water system is basic. Above ground 3/4" pipe. Pickup is from a dammed creek probably 200 verticle feet drop to the cabins. It feeds into a huge cement reservoir. The last time I was there I cleaned out the inlet but the pipe could be full of junk somewhere along the line. I was thinking try and scrounge as much of the existing piping thats not plugged and make a makeshift dam further down just enough to feed a line with 10-15psi and bypass the reservoir and bring the pipe down to the beach. If you have 3/4 unions youd like to donate, bring em along:cheers:

what type of pipe is it? copper pvc flexible?
maybe we could try and figure out where its plugged downstream.. s*** gets stuck in fittings and we should be able to cut out fittings we suspect and plugged and repair them.

flexible pvc. Yeah. We could work from the top down. The reason I want to do this is to supply a camp hot tub instead of having to use my 12v RV pump. Heated with coils in the bonfire.

STill Going?

Is this trip still on?

Can't reach you on phone

I'm sorry about that. My dad fell into a fire and has 2nd and 3rd degree burns to his hands. He is far from medical clinics so I've been doing his daily dressings and preparing him for winter (firewood, garden, etc...) since he cannot do anything now. This is the first time I have gotten to a computer.

Spring maybe.
