OK, so here I am watching Extreme 4x4 on TV which inevitably makes me
1) want to go tear some things down on the truck and
2) want to go wheeling

One limitation for the latter being that there aren't too many folks to go wheeling with out here and, more often then not, that's limited to organized outings every few months or so, not so much for the impulsive half-day localish trip.

So I thought I should find out who is around and willing / interested in keeping in touch for the improvised local day or half-day trip. Just to get out there and breathe some clean air and take in some nice sights or get away from the rat race. If we identify a few people, we could exchange phone numbers and when somebody wants to go out, well, at least there may be a few potential guys to go along with. One thing that often keeps me from going is that I would be by myself. Not the best in case of technical problems which means much more time to invest preparing for the trip (full inspection etc) which detracts from the spontaneous "go for it" bit. And it's fun to be with somebody out there.

So, if you're local and interested, post here (not your phone number, we should do this by PM) and let's see what happens...

You mentioned as far south as Ventura, so you might want to contact Channel Islands Cruisers. They are a good group of people to stay in touch with.

I live in SLO and wouldnt mind getting out for a day trip now and again.

I'm back in business, have been since Surf N' Turf. I'm game and am pretty open and available to do something.

You may want to hit up Jim Brantley (PismoJim), and maybe get on the SLO locals board. There's some stuff starting to brew for the new year right now.

LA peeps wouldnt mind joining too

hey hey, don't forget the la peeps! we can be spontaneous too. :steer:

sta barbara is only a couple clicks away from la/the valley, so I'm sure some of us could make the trip up there... considering, it's the trip back home that we're not looking forward to...putt-putting up the 101 in the agoura/westlake/calabasas area.

OK, good, SLO and SM... How about those trails a bit out of SM on the road to Cuyama, North of the highway...

Will be a pleasure to host some LA folks, spontaneous (is there such a thing in LALA land? :D) or not... :) Long clicks though.

But let's hear from more folks still...

I'm here in the San Fernando Valley, if you gave me a one day notice, I could probably join you guys on some trips. let me know...
