I'm reconsidering my switch in the 90s from gasoline to the current propane stove set up. I'm carrying gasoline anyway and cooking with a gasoline stove eliminates the need to carry another fuel. There is a risk for a gasoline fire but it is an added fun factor!❤️‍🔥🔥🧨 all depends on point of view, right?! ;)
Not sure if you're joking. However...
DO NOT cook with gasoline!
Gasoline has impurities and additives, and is highly toxic and is NOT the same as white gas, which burns clean.
White gas is what is supposed to be used in gas camping stoves.

Not sure what running your vehicle on white gas would do, but I'm thinking it would not be good.

Good point. I do remember cooking with gas in those Coleman stoves. They did leave a lot of residues on the pots and pans.I’d buy a can from the store, use it for the trip, then pour whatever is left in my Cutlass Supreme. It was definitely cleaner to switch to propane. I was young and stupid so didn’t think about the additives they put in gasoline. I’m sure that got even worse these days. I’ll continue to strap my 20 lb propane tank to the back of the rig and cook with it. The bonuses are fewer tailgaters and the gasoline, propane and water tanks complete the red white and blue theme!!!

can you post a pic of the 20# mount system?

I've been contemplating that for years but my research has not found a turnkey system.

Not exactly turnkey

Coleman only recommends running automobile gasoline in their stove as a last resort. The recommended fuel is white gas which is basically gasoline w/o all the additives, I.e. super pure gasoline.

Gasoline hasn't had lead in it for several decades and that was the most dangerous additives. I think gasoline is safe to use in coleman as long as you don't get your food in direct contact with the flames. I have heard it is not good for the seals in your Coleman stove, however.
